Appellant

The name given to someone appealing to a higher court or body against a decision made in a lower court or body.

The person who wants to appeal against a decision made by the court is called the appellant. 

There are strict procedures on appealing and once the court has reached a decision the appellant will have a limited amount of time in which to appeal.
