Civil law

Law involving disputes which do not amount to crimes.

Civil law involves disputes between individuals and includes contract disputes, monetary disputes, matrimonial disputes or disputes with neighbours.

Cases are usually dealt with in the County Court with more serious cases being dealt with by the High Court.

The claimant is generally looking for compensation for the wrong that has been seen to be done.
