Continuous professional development

After qualification and practical training, barristers must participate in a continuing education programme.

The Bar Council  along with other professions now recognises the importance of continuous professional development.

The law is ever changing and developing and if the profession as a whole is to keep up with these changes then there needs to be a strategy for achieving this.

Therefore there is a requirement that after qualification and practical training barristers participate in a continuing education programme.

The Bar Council monitors this scheme and credits attendance at suitable training sessions.
