A gift of real property (i.e. Land, house).

A gift of real property, as opposed to personal property, is known as a devise.  A gift of personal property is known as a bequest.

This is largely an historical difference due to the way the law relating to real property i.e. land or buildings and personal property such as jewellery or money, has developed.
