A contract can be regarded as discharged when the contract and any obligations arising under the contract have ended.

In the normal course of events a contract will be discharged when the parties have performed and completed their obligations under the contract so that no liabilities exist.

In addition to performance, a contract may be discharged by agreement, breach, or frustration.
