Office for the supervision of solicitors

This body was set up by the law society to replace the solicitor's complaints bureau. It is now known as the legal complaints service.

The Office for the Supervision of solicitors has been renamed.  It is now known as the Legal Complaints Service (LSC).

The Law Society abolished the former Solicitor’s Complaint Bureau and instead set up the Office for the Supervision of Solicitors.  This new “watchdog” is still funded by the Law Society.  This means that complaints about the lack of a truly independent complaints service are still valid, it has also been criticised for delays.
